The idea
A feeling, given
a small, round place.
This piece borrows a Tang poem’s way of placing a feeling in something small enough to keep close.
红豆生南国，
春来发几枝。
愿君多采撷，
此物最相思。

01 · Where it began
With a short poem
about red seeds.
Red seeds grow in the south;
in spring, a few new sprigs.
Gather as many as you can —
of all things, these hold longing most.
Wang Wei asks a friend to gather plenty of red seeds, because of all things, they hold longing most. We borrowed the poem’s way of placing a feeling in something small and round.
02 · What we understood
Care is rarely
said out loud.
It lives in a greeting, an afternoon together, a thought of someone that comes back in passing. We wanted to give that feeling one small object, so that when your eyes fall on it, someone comes to mind.

The vermilion bead appears brightly between deep brown and blue-teal. A run of small red beads answers it from further along the strand: one clear moment, and the care that stays in ordinary days afterwards.
The brown grain lays a quiet ground, blue-teal brings a cooler contrast, and the pale pink drop leaves a little softness.
At the scale of a hand, the strand becomes a line of colour you see many times a day.
