The idea
When something matters to us, slowing down can be difficult. This piece leaves a little room to look again.

01 · Two sections, one circle
Dark wood beads make one long section of the circle; pale blue beads and two carved pale green pieces make the other. A few wood beads return inside the pale section, so the two never sit simply side by side.
We read it as the way a stretch of life tends to go: the hard parts and the good parts are rarely kept in separate places.

01 / Interwoven
In this bracelet, dark wood beads stand for the difficulties we face. Pale jade represents the rewards and moments of joy we find along the way.
Wood and jade form two sections of one circle. A few wood beads return within the jade section: even after a moment of joy, life can bring another difficulty.
02 · A little room
The dark wood beads meet a carved piece across an open span of cord. We use this space for the room we can give ourselves to think when something becomes difficult.
When we feel stuck, pushing harder is not always the answer. We can slow down, understand the problem and consider our options before deciding how to act.
Two cords keep the piece connected across the gap. In the same way, slowing down need not mean giving up on something we care about.

03 · What we gain
One carved piece hangs where the wood beads meet. The other follows the open span of cord. We think of them as what we gain through our experiences.
A gain may be an accomplishment, a new understanding, or a clearer next step. What we learn becomes part of how we move forward.
